I split repetitive tasks into functions. Eventually I ended up with groups of functions that all seemed to do similar things (like calculations, for example). So I took all those functions and split them into a separate .py file, then in the main file, just import calculator.py. then I can call calculator.function1(), calculator.function2(), etc just like you would call any other function.
